Who is the Treasure State Alliance?

The answer to this question is definitely a mouthful but I
am going to attempt to explain it in a short article. This concept is not a new
one. The motorized groups of Montana
have been trying to get an established professional organization for
years. Between all the activities,
working with their local agency concerns and staying abreast of the agency
plans across the state, these volunteer organizations could not find the time
to get it off the ground. But all their
efforts are a reality today.
The Treasure State Alliance (TSA)
is a professional Motorized Recreational Organization. The need TSA
has never been more obvious than it is today!!!
Forest Service Travel Plans and Land Management Plans are on-going from
border to border in Montana. BLM Plans
and special designations are in the planning stages. Wilderness advocates have convinced these
agencies, some legislatures, our governor and some individuals that Montanan's
want more wilderness. With 98 percent of
our public land users utilizing multiple use lands, it
is time for the majority to be heard on a daily basis. To have a full time staff to work with these
agencies, educate our legislative representatives and the public and to
maintain a close working relationship with our governor's office in support of motorized
recreation in Montana.
One of the most prominent needs is for all motorized users
to be educated, informed and proactive in saving our access to our public
lands. TSA will do just that by
providing the volunteer motorized recreational community a conduit for
communications and a more consistent message delivered to these agencies and
the public.
TSA will work to educate the media on the importance of our
recreation from our backcountry pilots to our hunting sportsman. We will strive to get all motorized
recreationalists concerns and voices heard in the media.
What can you do? Join
TSA or any motorized recreation group and help us to fight for our access. Stay apprised of issues that may affect our
community. But most of all, do what you can to be involved in the processes that
are evident to reduce Montana's
Recreational Treasure…..ACCESS to our public lands.
